Floor Prep & Repair
All epoxy floor coatings require proper Floor preparation To ensure maximum adhesion and long-lasting durability. How the floor is prepared significantly impacts the finished product's quality and appearance.
Surface Preparation
The first step is to remove old coatings to start with a clean surface. Then, we must create the correct profile on the concrete slab to ensure it has the correct texture so the new coatings adhere properly. At Total Floor Prep, our surface preparation methods Are determined by the specific conditions of your floor:
Shot Blasting: Most productive method of coating removal and surface prep. Ideal for heavy epoxy floor systems (such as 1/8" broadcast, 30 Mil, 1/4" trowel down).
Diamond Grinding: Necessary for thin film epoxy systems (30 mils or less).
Floor Scraping: Assists in removing old coatings, mastic, or tiles.
Whether you need tile or glue removal, cracks in concrete patched, or a surface prepped and repaired for a new flooring system, Total Floor Prep can help. Fill out our form to Request a free quote, or email us at totalfloorprepny@gmail.com to discuss your floor prep and repair needs.
